LAC+USC Violence Intervention Program

This special Los Angeles County (LAC) + University of Southern California (USC) Program help victims of abuse.
They are mostly (but not all) Women & Children.
Once an "incident" happens, the victim(s) go to or are taken to the USC treatment center and undergo medical evaluations. Oftentimes their clothing is needed for evidence for possible criminal prosecutions.
Each patient is treated with total respect during their whole process and their medical evaluations. They are each given new undergarments and new or gently used clothes in addition to some personal items such as toiletries or other items if available.
Each child also goes home with a toy or stuffed animal to try and bring a little happiness into their life. Public transportation (bus, etc.) is often used so smaller portable items/toys/gifts are best.
